    MONEY 2003 (MONEY 2003)

A friend is upgrading from his really old WIN 95 system to a new WIN XP. He is getting Works 2003 with Money 2003 as part of his package. He has used his original Money program from OFFICE 95 extensively. Will Money 2003 "restore" his old data from his backup?

Money 2003 can use the data from all previous versions of Money.

Correction. Microsoft Money IS NOT part of Microsoft Office. It is standalone product, but computer vendors often include both in pre-installed package.

When your friend will restore a backup from previous version, tell him be careful and do not create a new profile and start to restore the backup immediately after starting Money the first time, otherwise he will be surprised that he can not input any new transaction. To check how many profiles is open, click on "File" menu and you will see it near the bottom of the menu.

The poster seems to be referring to Microsoft Works 2003, which bundles Word 2002 and Money 2003 Standard, as well as some other stuff. I agree it really doesn't go here on the General Office board...
