Re: How to Perform a Restart from a Batch File?

The TechNet link was for Windows Server 2003 which I don't think will work in Windows 98. Recommend check this MSKB Article:

How to Exit Windows 98/Me Automatically Using a Batch File

The command you'd use for a reboot looks pretty simple:

rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 2

My computer is running Windows XP so I have no way to test this (Win 98 commands don't work too good on Win XP). See article for details.

    Hi Mark

    Great article!

Shows 2 methods, both have their place, both work on Win 98

    Thanks, John
