Table - move keeping col widths (Word97, SR 2)

    Afternoon -

Is it possible in Word97 to move a table while maintaining the established column widths? If not, short of creating a new section, are there any other solutions?

    Thanks, as always.

Can you explain what you mean by "move a table"? If you select an entire table (Alt+Num 5), you can drag it to another location in the document, or you can cut and paste it. This will preserve column widths, so that is probably not what you mean.

Hans - Sorry to be a dunce about this, but...

Can you explain what you mean by "move a table"?
I created the table and then realized I should move it to the right.
My current left margin is, say, 1

I don't have Word 97 handy. In Word 2002, there is a textbox at Tables > Table Properties > Indent from Left that would seem relevant. But I would think very careful use of the ruler to drag the left boundary of the table to the position you want should work as well.

With the insertion point somewhere in the table, select Table | Cell Height and Width. The Row tab in this dialog allows you to specify Left, Center, or Right alignment for the entire table, and also to set a left indent (positive is to the right, negative is to the left of the page margin).
