    silent sound card

Thanks to all who helped me track down a faulty sound card that caused my brandy new MB/Athlon 2400 to freeze, a new card solved that problem. The card appears to be loaded properly in Device Manager but the 'Play' button is grayed out in the Control Panel | Sounds and it won't play anything. The Hardware tab there claims there is no playback device! Ugh... It won't even use the onboard sound card with the MB and I have run the audio drivers set up from the MB CD. I can't find anything in the MB manual about flipping jumpers for sound, and nothing in CMOS appears to enable it.
