    Contacts (2002)

    Good afternoon,

I think I have a simple question, but I cannot find the simple answer:

How do I change the order of contactpersons in my adressbook?

    The following occurs:
    I have my personal contact'book'.
In the general book all the contacts are like this: 'lastname, firstname'.
How do I change this in my adressbook, I know how to change the view in contacts, but not how to do this in the adressbook?

    Many thanks in advance!

Try this: in Outlook 2002, select Tools | E-mail Accounts...
Under Directory, click "View or change existing directories or address books".
    Click Next >.
Select an available address book, then click Change...
    Select File As (Smith, John)
    Click Close.
Repeat if you have more than one Address Book.
    Click Finish.
    Quit and start Outlook again.

    What if this doesn't work? I have a corrupt system? (and a very annoying colleague <img src=/S/bash.gif border=0 alt=bash width=35 height=39> )

    Can you be more precise?

    - Can't you find the settings, or
    - Can't you change the settings, or
    - Can you change the settings, but they don't have a visible effect?

I changed the settings as you said, but I don't see any changes... sob... (option 3)

In the window 'New Contact' the 'save as' part doesn't show right. If I fill in the name 'Pietje Puk', I expect 'Puk, Pietje' to appear in the Save as option...
And when I click the button 'Adressbook' and show the Contacts it still doens't appear right...

    Grtz,
    Daphne

    Re: Contacts (2002)

I think I've located the problem.
I have imported an old exchange personal adressbook.
In this book the names were filled in as one 'field'. So the first name and last name are seen as just the first name Outlook....

The thing you suggested btw did help some other member of our staff, so many thanks for that!

    Have a nice evening!
    Daphne
