Can set up Windows Explorer via Command line?

In my role, I frequently have to access various users PCs, and their Windows Explorer. Most of them have never changed any of the settings in Explorer, and probably never will. The first thing I do if I have to use it for more than a couple of minutes is set it up the way I like to see it (see file extensions, etc.)

I was trying to find out if WIndows Explorer accepts command line commands that could set it up, but haven't been able to find anything. I suspect that I can't but thought I'd toss the question into the forum.

    Thanks,

    Howard

First of all one should NEVER make any changes to some one else's machine. regardless of who they are. I got a IT person in deep dodo who thought I needed to use my machine the way uses his. Believe me, he never made any changes to another machine without asking and explaining what the changes would do.

I know of NO command line entries that one can use.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Dave:

In theory, I wholeheartedly agree, except I have been in similar situations, where, in fact, company policy(s) precluded "individualization" of systems, and this mandate was promulgated byIT...

Point well taken, but there are a limited number of command line switches available. As I recall, I got this information here about a year ago.

A desktop shortcut to explorer can be used with command line arguments to open C: at root instead of My Documents by using this as a target:

    %SystemRoot%explorer.exe /n, /e, C:

If you have the rights why not access them over a network using your own Explorer. With the correct rights, you should be able to do whatever you need.
