    Assigned Tasks (2002)

Our IT guru gets many Outlook tasks assigned to him. The "Requested by" field in the Task Detailed List view and the "Update List" field in the Details tab of the Task record are both completed automatically by Outlook when he receives a task assigned by someone else.

He would also like to be able to create tasks himself that have been verbally requested by coworkers but he wants to manually complete the "requested by" field and/or the "Update List" field with the requester's name (so he can keep the requester in the loop). Any possibility he can do so? I know he can e-mail a task status report to anyone but that isn't the way he wants to do it.

    Re: Assigned Tasks (2002)

I don't have experience with it, but he may be able to create a Public Folder with default Task Item Type, where Task requests are created by and for him. This would mean he could go there and create new Tasks and change the Requestor and Owner of the task if he has the necessary permissions, and create Tasks which are assigned to him from verbal requests.

See if this helps, and I hope your IT Guru knows more about this than I do. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
