Win XP Home Login (Home SP-1)

For about the fourth time since buying Windows XP Home edition, I have rebuilt my hard drive. I do it for various reasons but this time I ran into something I can't figure out how to change.
In all previous loads, since I am the only user on this machine, XP skips the welcome page. It knows I'm going to log in as myself and takes me right in. This time, however, I have to click my icon (the only one on the screen) to get to the desktop. It also makes me click every time it comes out of standby.
What do I need to check or uncheck to simplify this? I know how/where to do it in Win 98 but that doesn't help me here.

    Thanks,
    Joe Fusco

From what I'm reading you cannot Bypass Logon in WinXP Home if you have more then one user. Do you have more then one user? You can check in Control Panel under User Accounts. Read this if you want You can bypass the Login Window in Windows XP Home if you have only one user , no password, user switching disabled, and the guest account is disabled. In this case, Windows will log straight into the computer

    Joe,

Go to Control Panel | User accounts, click " change the way users log on or off" Remove check from use welcome screen. OK out.

When you reboot you may get the log on screen...just don't fill in any password, click OK. It should then remember your settings and log on without further ado.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

Sorry Joe If I had been paying attention I would have seen that you said you were the only user. Woops.
