    Places Bar (Office XP)

In the file open dialog, the tools menu Add To "My Places" is greyed out, and no changes can be made. Any idea why this might be? I had installed and run the WOPR Places program, but that crashes each time you try to run an update (I am getting a refund). I understand I can make changes by modifying the registry, but this would be much easier - I just want to add a couple of "places" here.

For me, that menu item becomes enabled if I select a folder. I presume it would add the selected folder to My Places, but then I don't know what would happen to the existing places. I didn't feel like experimenting. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
