databinbding in Data Access pages (Access 2002)

    Hi All,
Can anyone give me a tip to speed up the databinding process of a DAP. I have a table with 30000 records which is bound to the page. When the page is first accessed it takes up to 2 minutes to bind. After this, the user is presented with two textboxes. They fill in the text boxes, and then the DAP returns records based on the criteria in the two boxes. This process takes an additional few minutes. I feel i am missing a step here, as this seems an extraordinary amount of time (all up) for records to be displayed to the screen. The DAP is read only, too.

    Thanks
    Craig

Why not load the DAP initially with an empty recordset and not populate it until they have filled in the two textboxes? That should be significantly faster.
