Because of some corruption in a user profile on XP, I need to move the whole of Outlook Express, message files, three identities, address book, and so on, the "whole nine yards" as we say over here, to a newly-created user profile.

I've been through the "Preparation" steps in Tom Koch's Complete Clone Backup, and took 45 minutes over just part of it, where he said it would take 5 .

I can now do the backup/export of the four Registry Keys from the new location in the old user profile to four .REG files..

But am I right in thinking that to stop using OE in the old user profile, and start using OE in the user profile I need only:

a) in the old user profile, delete these four keys from the registry (to prevent someone screwing up the files later)

log off from the old user profile and log on to the new user profile (thus getting the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive corresponding to the NEW user profile)

c) restore/import the previously-saved registry keys by double-clicking on the four REG files in turn.

d) open Outlook Express in each identity, and put in the corresponding password (which doesn't get saved as part of the registry key export process).

Can anyone give me an expert opinion on this "move OE from one user to another" problem, which isn't dealt with explicitly by Tom's writeup?
