Error Converting to Access 97 (2000/SR1)

When I try to convert my database to Access 97, I get the following error: "The Microsoft Jet database could not find the object 'Main Table'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly." I have converted this database many times before, but have never gotten this error. At first I thought the Main Table might be corrupted, but I can open and view it with no problems.

Have you tried compacting in 97 first and then converting ?

Try renaming the table to "MainTable" without the space, you can always rename it "Main Table" afterwards.
Spaces can cause complicated errors in Access so it is always better to apply a naming convention.

    tblMainTable
    frmMainForm
    qryMainQuery
    modMainMod
    txtMainText
    cboMainCombo etc etc etc

I tried compact and repair prior to conversion. It didn't help. I've converted objects with spaces from Access 2000 to Access 97 many times with no problems. I know it's not kosher but it works. I also was able to import the Main Table into another 2000 database.

Have you tried removing the table and then converting.?

If that works, you an re-create the table and paste all the records back in.
