Is it possible to write customized filters, or rules via VBA?
I am looking for a rule that would send a reply to a message based on its subject.
Also maybe have some rules that act on a message based on multiple conditions.
If anyone has any sample code, to get me started that would be great.

Yes, I've never tried to do this, but since my spam filter obviously checks every new message coming it, it must be possible for VBA (or a COM Add-in) to hook into that and take actions based on the contents. You will, though, be bothered by security prompts unless you use a third party library like Outlook Redemption to generate your reply messages. Thus, in reviewing sample code, bear in mind that any access to the recipients (to or cc or bcc) or using the Send method will have to be rewritten to some extent to avoid insanity.
