    Created Menus (XP)

Is it possible to create "menus" in Excel where you have categories with "+" next to them that you click to expand a list, and "-" that you click to close it back up again? Sort of like the View by Sender function in Outlook.

    Thanks.

You can create "pop-out" menus like Format|Row - which gives you a list - but that's as far as it goes. Would you like an example in VBA?

OK what I think you are describing to is called "Cascading Menus" You can check this MSKB Article - 213735 maybe you can modify the sample code to do what you want.

Thanks - once again, I was given bogus information to form my question. What this guy really wanted to do can be best accomplished by merely making a pivot table!

Again - thanks for trying to help. Have a great day.

    Data - subtotals
    and
    Data - group and outline
might be what you are thinking of

    Data - filter - autofilter
    might also be useful

All these work with the "original data set" and "hide" columns and or rows. They might be more of what hey would like instead of the summary created by a pivot table.

Thanks - but he figured it out. Used the outline grouping and it's working just fine.

Have a great day and, again, thank you!
