    Uninstall with script

Is it possible to unintall an app using a script?. I need to install and remove an app over and over and I'd like to avoid Add/Remove in the Control panel if this is possible.

    Kevin--

Is the reason for the script the number of times and speed with you want to do this--(for whatever reason) so that you can do this rapidly and automatically? Of course if it were just avoiding add/remove you could uninstall from a registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPublisherProgram NamewherePublisheris the name of the software company that made theprogram andProgram Nameis the name of the software package (in thecase of companies with multiple products like Symantec or Adobe.

    Or you might uninstall from

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionUninstall and exporting the reg keys to a subfile before uninstalling them.

    Kevin--
Just curious trying to learn from what you're doing--what program are you trying to repeat install and remove?
    Uninstall Without Using Add/Remove
Add Remove Utilities--Also Uninstall from the Command LIne
    Allow Uninstall of Windows Components
I don't know if either of these will help or not:

Also Jerry Honeycutt has written articles on scripting 2000 and you might look there or write him. He did a Scripting XP chat on MS's site August 13, but they haven't archived it yet. I found a link last night when I was going to respond, but Blaster caused MS to take their site down to duck.

    Re: Uninstall with script

    HB,
Great effort here. Thanks much. I've seen reading all these trying to figure out if they'll help. Still not done.

I'm trying to install/uninstall an app created in VS .Net 2002/2003 which creates an Windows Installer app (msi and setup). So msi command line switches should do the trick if I can figure out the nuiances. I think I've got the uninstall portion to work.
