    Win2K Power Off Problem

After a power failure while I was using my computer, I have an odd problem. From Win2K, machine won't power off on shutdown--all I get is a "It is now safe to turn off your computer". If I choose shutdown from the logon dialog box before starting windows, machine shuts down and powers off normally. Computer is Dell Optiplex GX260. Anyone have any ideas?

    Re: Win2K Power Off Problem

    Once again, you did it Hans. <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

Problem appeared to be my Logitec mouse drivers, which weren't there. It looks as though I never installed the software on this PC, although why it was never an issue before this I don't know. 8 months with a functioning trackball and no problems only to have a power failure cause this?! I installed Logitec software and problem seems solved. Log off user and shutdown now appear fully functional. Hope it lasts and the power failure that hit most of the northeast US will leave me alone now. I had only a momentary brownout. Thanks for your help.
