    help is broken

In all of my Office applications, if I go to Help, I cannot give focus to the "What do you want to do" control. When I hover my mouse over it I get the horizontal two-headed arrow cursor. When I click, nothing. The same happens in the "Type keywords" control under the Index tab. Everything else works fine, but of course this makes Help pretty much useless for practical purposes. I've tried reinstalling, and the problem persists.

    Anyone have a clue?

    Thanks for any help.

Apologies. I'm using Office 2000, with SR-1 and the Security Update installed.

When this happens I usually reboot and the problem goes away (I'm using Microsoft Office Developer pre-SR1).

This KB article sounds like a longshot: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q263/6/47.ASP>OFF2000: Cannot Type Text into Answer Wizard or Help Index</A>
