    WINDOWS XP HOME (XP)

    IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO THE REPAIR PROCEEDURE WITH THE CD FOR WINDOWS XP LIKE YOU CAN DO WITH OFFICE?
    I HAVE A COMPUTER AT WORK THAT NEEDS SOME REPAIR AS IT IS CRANKY WHEN IT BOOTS UP. THANKS IN ADVANCE. JOHN

    Yes,
    When you boot to the CD, one of the options is to do a "repair" installation as opposed to a clean install. You can retain your previous settings with a repair, whereas with a clean install, you go back to square one and have to reinstall settings as well as apps. <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>
