    Delink Chart with Data (Excel 2000)

    I have a sheet with a chart on it. I want to send part of the sheet to someone, including the chart but excluding the data for the chart. For the formula part of the sheet, I can use paste special and copy just the value. However, I can't do the same with chart. Anyway to freeze the chart so that when the data sources are deleted, the chart is still intact ?

    2 ways to do this:

    1) Create a "picture of the chart" so it is no longer a chart, but a picture.

    Select the chart,
    hold down the Shift key,
    Edit - Copy Picture (only available when you hold down Shift as you select Edit).
    <ok>
    Select a spot on worksheet for picture
    Edit - Paste.

    2) make the values "static" (not linked to a formula)
    Select a chart series
    Click the formula bar
    Press <F9> to convert the "formula" to an array of values
    Repeat for each series in the chart.

    Brilliant Steve. I've wondered for years if this is possible but never worked out how to do it; suppose I could have posted a query.
