lost loading bar in IE6 (xphome sp1)

After new instal of xp home on new HDD I notice that the little green bar at the bottom of page in IE is missing - thats the one that shows the progress of the download of a page or web site, any ideas as to where its gone and how to get it working?

Is the entire status bar missing? If so, select View | Status Bar.
Or is the status bar visible, but it doesn't display the loading progress bar?

This may be a little off thread, but I find it useful. If you use the status bar, it can also be an index depending on the equation of your computer and what's running that you need to reboot or memory is compromised when it stops working (if it is sticking and showing up fine).
