    Project 2002 backward compatible? (2002)

Is MS Project 2002 backward compatible with Project 2000, and will other Project 2000 users be able to open a Project 2002 file?
    Thanks for your help,
    Eric

Yes, Project 2002 is backwards compatible. Project 98 and 2000 users probably won't be able to read your files, but you can save the project in a format that they can read. In the "Save as" dialog box, look at the options under "Save as type" and you should be able to save the project in '98 or '00 format. Good luck!

Paula's answer is correct, however, just to clarify.

A person with a prior version of Project will not be able to open a later version file. For example, you create a project using Project 2000 and send the .MPP file to someone with Project 98. The person with Project 98 will not be able to open the file.
