    Aligning objects (XP / 2002)

This is a small but annoying problem I have with powerpoint. I always work with snap to grid turned on but have a problem with the way the guidelines behave. Why is it that the guidelines sometimes coincide exactly with the boundaries of objects but at a different zoom factor or in a different part of the screen they appear to be very close and parallel but not actually coincident.

I realise that this is probably only a visual thing and that the drawing is probably behaving as it should, but it is really annoying.

    Joe:

This may well be a screen problem - it doesn't happen on mine. You could try Page Down, Page Up to see if it corrects itself. Failing that, holding down ALT while dragging an object will override the current Snap setting.
