The wheel works in all other programs as it should. Only in Word 8 does the wheel not work. In Word 8 I can turn the wheel for about one minute and it will scroll one line. When in auto scroll, it will scroll one line every ten seconds. Re-installed Word 8, mouse drivers, Intellipoint 4 .12, scandisked, and many re-boots. Can some one tell me which way I should go next. We are using WIN 98SE.

There are some (old) threads in the MS Newsgroups that point to compatibility problems between video drivers and IntelliPoint. Since you have a recent version of IntelliPoint, you might check if you have the most recent drivers for your video card.

Thank you for responding!! I checked my drivers and they seem to be the latest versions. I found my problem and it was with the Togglemouse program I installed recently. One of the options was, for whatever reason, conflicting with Word 8. Everything is back to normal, again.
