    Windows Update Control Package

Since subscribing to WWW and WOW, I've become cautious about installing updates to Windows and Office whenever I receive a Critical Update Notice. I take care to avoid the Outlook Internet Security Update, for example. Does anyone know of a reason to avoid the Windows Update Control Package, which I am now getting a notification about? I'm running Windows 98 (not Second Edition) and Office Pro 97 on an IBM ThinkPad. Thanks for your help.

<img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>I've paid attention to all the warnings from lots of sources, but I've never had a problem updating Win98 fromthe MS web site. But logic dictates we'll both get burned one of these days.
