    Horizontal Line in Macro (2002)

I was creating a macro that inserts a horizontal line amidst text - I know how to insert the line BUT the line did not insert from left margin to right margin. If I'm not in the macro create mode, I can double click the line and will be given the option to change the line size but in macro create mode, it will not let me do this. The default is set at 6.25" for the width and I'd like it to be 7.5". <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

Are you using a floating line to do this? Is there are reason you are not using Paragraph borders instead? Using paragraph borders would stretch from one margin to the other by default and would adjust automatically to different margin sizes if the user changed the page setup. The code for that would look something like
    Selection.ParagraphFormat.Borders(wdBorderBottom). LineStyle = wdLineStyleSingle

If you need to stay with the floating line, post the code you are using so we can suggest a modification.

The way I was inserting a line was Format - Borders & Shading - Horizontal Line - from there I chose the double line. I don't know if that is considered a floating line or not. As I mentioned, I can just double click it normally and adjust the size but while I'm creating a macro it won't let me adjust the size.

I think border lines run the width of the paragraph by default. Are you inserting paragraphs in a style with a left or right indent that could be causing a shorter line to appear?
