macro pops up when closing (outlook XP)

    Hello everyone:

after closing the outlook, I receive a message that says "The macro(s) in the project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host applied to determine how to enable macro".

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to resolve this matter.

    Thanks

(Edited by jscher2000 on 21-Aug-03 19:00. Added picture of Project Explorer in the VBE.)
Well... do you have any macros or add-ins?

To see if you have macros, press Alt+F8 and see if anything is listed in the box. If not, press Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor and "look around." Check in ThisOutlookSession and any Modules or Class Modules or Forms. Anything there?

To see if you have COM Add-ins, look under:
    Tools > Options... > Other > Advanced Options... > COM Add-ins...

    Anything?

If you poke around in all the code modules under Project1, is there anything there???

Do you use Word as your mail editor? (Just wondering if Word could be throwing up this weird message.)

If there's nothing in the editor, then you should be able to delete without any problem. It seems likely that your macro warning will the go away.

Re: macro pops up when closing (outlook XP)

Mmmmaybe. If you are opening the macro editor from inside Outlook, you should see the file name VbaProject.OTM. If you see Project1, I think you must be opening the editor from inside Word. Project1 could refer to the open e-mail message, I'm not sure, I don't use Word as my mail editor. But if Project1 is empty, it cannot generate error messages like the one you're getting, so I think you should ignore that and see if you can get into the editor from Outlook to check on VbaProject.OTM.

One other thing. You could, at the risk of running an unknown macro, enable your macros in Outlook.

    Tools > Macro > Security...

I'd guess yours is on High. Medium is typical. Set that, close and re-open Outlook. Now, when you start Outlook, if it detects macros, it will ask if you want them to run. You don't get a choice, macro by macro, just this general choice.

If that doesn't get rid of the message, I would get more suspicious about what's happening on the Word side.

    Hello jscher2000:

I did exactly what you had recommended, I do use word as my email editor, only because I feel very comfortable with the great editing abilities, and spell check. I lowered the safety for the macro there was no other options that I could choose from.

Thanks for your time and support, much appreciated
