installing IE update 818529 (xp home )

Had a few more coffee's <grin> now I am more alert. I believe he has tried to download the 64bit version. Not positive of course since I haven't spoken to him yet. Does anyone else concur with my diagnosis? <img src=/S/doctor.gif border=0 alt=doctor width=25 height=33>
below is where he had to choose when he clicked on the download. I know he is confused about whether he has 32bit or 64bit XP...I have told him twice he has 32bit. But to no avail I think.

Why not tell him he's got 32 bits because you got the other 32?

I think we're going to get back to the problem of identifying the "Any key" (which you have to hit to continue...).

This question is for a friend. He was doing all his critical updates yesterday. Upon checking to see if he had (all of his updates), he saw that he did not have IEsp2, he said he had IEsp1. He wanted to update to IEsp2 and found this link to #818529 (which he said was what he needed to go from IEsp1 to IEsp2)

He said his system requirements were in sync. with the requirements listed there. So he used the download link on that page.. the only concession about system requirements listed was, "unless you are running a windows 2003 server", you are redirected to another link. He is not running this.
When he installed it or tried to install it ?? not sure which at this point, he got the screen you see below..any ideas. I have no idea what he did to even try to install this, am just putting what I know here to see what he can do or has done or whatever .
He has also indicated that 818529, did not show on his computer as being installed. (he looked in add/remove, used belarc & the W/U installation history) If thats of any relevance.
Hope you all can understand what is going on with the above blurb <grin>..Am real sorry if this sounds so disjointed, its early I have only had 1 coffee, and my brain cells haven't even sorted themselves yet <img src=/S/dizzy.gif border=0 alt=dizzy width=15 height=15> . His was the first email I opened this a.m. and now he is off to work, so cannot even get ahold of him until the end of the day to find out exactly what went on. <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>
