This may help, although I haven't tried this specifically myself. I usually copy the CAB files off a networked CD drive.

You will find a copy, I can only assume it is a full copy, of the installation directory under C:WindowsOptionsCabs. From here my notes read :
Copy the cab files to C:KITSWIN95. (You need to create this directory).
Reboot into DOS and delete everything, except C:COMMAND.COM, leaving WINDOWSCOMMAND until last.
Now run SETUP from C:KITSWIN95.

I have used this method successfully a number of times, but offer no guaranty that I have it dowm pat.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi willow,
If copying from the Win98 CD doesn't work for you, then maybe you can get a floppy disk set for Win95? I'm guessing from your logo that you are in Oz. This might not help, but here in the UK various flavours and formats of Win 9x can be picked up dirt cheap at computer fairs or even car boot sales (~

Hey Willow !
While reading this thread I couldn't help but ask ,"Why not just install Win 98 if she has the CD?" If you have all the blank floppys you need to copy the Win 98 files from the CD to, using your other PC of course, you should be good to go. The system requirements are almost the same for 95 & 98. I Googled this up just to be sure....

Just thought you should consider this option before you go shoppin'.

Ben (apologies for the gender faux pas),

I just checked an old Win 98 CD and it's much too large for you to copy off to floppys. Even if it were only the 89 MB I first thought it was that would involve at least 70+ floppy discs. It would be cheaper to buy an external drive enclosure and install an inexpensive CD Rom drive in it to do the deed.

I'll ponder this a bit more and see if I can come up with something a bit easier and less expensive.

(No worries about the faux pas mate, I'm in touch with my femine side...she belts me over the head with a rolling pin every night LOL)

If you can figure something out, I would be grateful. it's an old and slow bus, but it's handy to have!
