HTML e-mail won't show pix off-line

I receive e-mail that is formated as HTML. (Woody's Access Watch) While I am on-line, I can view the pictures that are in the e-mail. If I am off-line, the pictures cannot be viewed because they are not saved on my machine. They are lost after every session of Outlook 98. After 2 weeks of dialogue with MS they still don't understand the problem.

If you View Source in the message, the links probably point to the web. If you want to download the pictures into something other than IE's temporary cache, you can -

(1) Save As... HTML to a folder such as c:HTMLmail

(2) Open the message in IE and then Save As... "complete" page.

Not aware of a faster way.

Well, you (somebody) could write a VBA program to detect incoming HTML-format messages, download the graphics into a folder of your choice, change the <IMG> tags in the message to point to that folder, and save the changes. If you were on a high speed connection, this would not be too much to ask of your PC, but you would be exposed to more crashes and freezes if OL doesn't handle a bad connection well.
