Using Proper and Lower functions (Excel)

How do I use the "proper" or "lower" functions in Excel? I have huge lists to organize that are all "mixed up"..... some names are all in caps, others all in lower case and I'd like to capitalize the first letter only... i.e. sentence case. I don't find the help section very useful either! Can anyone help me please?

Try,

The add-in has a Proper function which you can use without using another column

If the string is in A1, you could use a formula like this:

<pre>=Upper((Left(Trim(A1),1))&Lower(Right(Trim(A1 ),Len(A1)-1))
</pre>

Thanks a ton - looks like a very useful program altogether. Thanks for both replies
