    TrueDoc technology?

Do any of you know if the new 6 incorporates the TrueDoc technology? <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=htm&Number=28582&page=0 &view=expanded&sb=5&vc=1#Post28582>See this post</A>

    No.
It looks like Microsoft is sticking with <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.microsoft.com/typography/web/embedding/weft3/default.htm>WEFT</A>.

<img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15> Since WEFT only works for IE, that's shot the whole idea, then.

    Re: TrueDoc technology?

Current versions of IE can use TrueDoc via an automatically downloaded ActiveX. Eileen and Ian, are you saying that an upcoming IE 6 will not accept the TrueDoc ActiveX?

Since the activex is provided by Bitstream, I am sure they will update it for IE 6, unless MS makes it impossible.

It certainly makes the whole idea less attractive.
