Mozilla users, script test please (Moz or NS 6/7)

My friend says this W3C compliant code does not fire correctly in Mozilla/Netscape 7. If anyone wants to check out these lightning photos and see if they can diagnose the problem, I'd love to have your feedback, since I've been using this format for a while and thought there were no issues.

SF Bay Area Lightning, August 25, 2003

Note: clicking an item in the listbox should swap in that photo. Photos are approximately 60KB each.

It runs just fine on mozilla firebird 0.6.1 and 0.6 as well as on Mozilla 1.2.1.

Mozilla 1.4 for Windows likes your code too.

    I'm with Unk.........works OK with Firebird 0.6.
Takes about 30 seconds to swap each of the 1024x768 images on my dialup.

    Have a Great day!!!

Sorry about the 30 seconds! Even though the frame is limited to 640x480, you're getting the full size when you download.

Maybe the problem is specific to the Netscape flavor of Mozilla. I'll inquire further and report anything useful that I learn.

The 30 seconds is a little slow on my connection. I mentioned it because at first I thought I might be having a problem but with a little patience the images downloaded OK. I would usually download a 60kb file in 20 to 25 seconds, sometimes maybe as fast as 15 seconds.

Must be a Firebird thing then. Chris didn't say in his post, but my Mozilla 1.4 renders each photo instantly and I have a DSL connection. (I didn't even have time to say: "one-one-thousand")

    Hi Big Al

Nah... my dialup is doing really good to get up to 3.5kb per sec. Your DSL is probably at 50 to 70kb per sec at its slowest.
I live right on the limits of DSL capability for my area and it just won't work. Hopefully Bell will extend their DSL service in our area soon. My only alternative (we don't have cable either) is satellite, but it's twice as expensive and I have to pay for ISP services on top.

PS: It's not the rendering.....once the image is cached (after first download) it renders immediately in Firebird as it does in your Mozilla, I'm sure.

    Have a Great day!!!
