    default save (Word 98 sr2)

    Can Word's default be changed so that after you create a document you can click on save and the document would go to a particular folder. I am trying to save the time of drilling down to that folder.

    Thanks in advance

    What I do is have an autonew menu in each template. For example if you had a folder for saving personal letters at d:documentspersonal, and a template for personal letters, you'd stick this in the autonew macro:

    Sub Autonew()

    ChangeFileOpenDirectory "d:documentspersonal"

    End Sub

    Then when you click the Save button for the first time the dialog opens at that folder

    Do you mean a fixed folder? If so, select Tools | Options..., activate the File Locations tab and set the Documents folder to that particular folder. If not, TimNott's suggestion should help.
