Prevent download of video (IE 6.0)

Hi, does anyone know how I can prevent download of video files (mpg, avi or whatever) either using IE's content advisor or a registry hack? I'd like to prevent download for all users either by directly clicking a video link or by right clicking and saving as.

    Many thanks,

    Mike C

Bruce, many thanks for the link but I think this prevents downloading of all files? I just want to prevent downloading of video files (eg .mpg, .avi).

    Mike--

    1) You can always (but this might be a baby throwout with the bath solution)--too restrictive for other things you want to see on a web page) set the (Tools>Options>Security) settings for the Internet Zone to high, then Videos won't run, but sound files won't play either but you also lose the Active X and Java script functionality of many web sites. Scripts or Active X won't run at all.

    2) This might do it for you: This will eliminate download of audio and video codecs in Win Media Player but you may not want to include audio, from the same source:

Disable Codec Downloads in WMP8 and Above

You might do better blocking files by extension and services by port at the gateway (e.g., a setting in your firewall). It's difficult to administer this sort of this on the desktop.
