    Tables & Forms

Is there a way to convert a table to a form? Is there a way to import a WordPerfect Table into a MSWord form? I have a number of forms and I just can't believe I have to redo them all since we are converting over to MSWord.

I haven't found a way to protect certain fields from user editing in tables and as I see from a previous post this isn't possible with tables. But it is with Forms. So I desire to get my WordPerfect Tables, which are forms, over to Word into a format where the protected fields are still protected, without having to rebuild them from scratch.

You'll still have to rebuild your fields from scratch I'm afraid, but you can import the tables and put formfields in them using the Forms toolbar (or = fields using Insert | Field...).

For more on fields and forms, follow the links at (http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordw...ces.htm#Fields) and <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms>Word Web Resources - Forms (http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordw...rces.htm#Forms).

    Hope this helps,

Forgot to mention <img src=/S/shy.gif border=0 alt=shy width=15 height=15> that you then protect the document (or that section of the document) for Forms using Tools | Protect Document...

That is what I suspected. I had hoped that I missed something or that there was a third party alternative.

    Thanks.
