Catching te Autosave event? (Word 2000/Sr1)

Is there a way to catch the AutoSave event that occurs in Word. We have notied the BeforeSave event is fired but we are not able to know if the beforesave occurred because of the Autosave or because of regular save.

    Thanks

Well, to address the second part first, you could set the AutoRecovery save time to 1 minute and just watch what happens...

Regarding how to detect the difference if it fires for both, that's a tough one. There is a property of the CommandBars collection (perhaps UserControl? or ActionControl?) that should tell you if the user initiated a save via File>Save or clicking a button, but I don't know whether it can tell you about Ctrl+S. I vaguely recall trying to detect whether a user had triggered the event handler using FileSave or FileSaveAs and I don't think I found a solution.

The difference between Save and SaveAs is about the only one I can do. There is a boolean parameter passed to the DocumentBeforeSave event handler called something like SaveAsUI which tells you this.

That's excellent. It makes me wonder whether maybe I was having the problem in PowerPoint rather than Word, since that would have been staring me in the face. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
