    Windows Update Options

I have 18 Windows 2000 computers on our network to maintain and have the following questions.

    1) Must I download the "windows update(s)" 18 times or can I download 1 package to the server for distribution to these PC's?
    2) If I must download 18 times is there a way to setup each computer to perform an automatic update without giving that user admin rights? Right now I have to be logged in with admin rights on these computers to install updates (or they will not install) and assume that setting these computers to do an automatic update would not work either if the user did not have admin rights.
    3) Any changes in XP OS that allow for automatic updates without users having admin rights?

    Thanks,

    Darrell Stewart

    Darrell,
Have you gone to Windows update and clicked on Windows Update Catalog?
From there you can select the type of OS and download copies of updates once and then install them to your network machines as you wish.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

    Darrell,
Take alook at: Software Update Services. Works great for critical updates. For anything else use the corporate site.
