Creating a rule to look for a senders display name (Outlook 2000)

Is it possible to set up a rule to filter out e-mail with a certain display name that has nothing to do with the actual e-mail address? Example: MEMBER SERVICES [joe.blow@whocares.com] where the rule looks for MEMBER SERVICES?

    Thanks!!

Try "With specific words in the message header" and see if that catches them. Of course, that might check various other lines in the message header, as well, such as the subject line, so you'll need to conduct a few tests before setting it and forgetting it.

Thanks!! That does work. It does also look at things in the subject line, but for now that is not a problem.

It sure would be nice for MS to add a category for the display name. That would help prevent SPAM and viruses that may all have the same or similar display name but random e-mail addresses. But perhaps that is to much to ask of the beacon for "trustworthy computing".

    Thanks again!!
