linked table-- how do I un-link?? (Access 2002)

I was experimenting with linking, and linked to a huge database table that is critical to my department. Now I realize that linking to this table isn't going to help me do what I want to do, but I don't know how to "un-link". I admit that I am terrified of corrupting this database. Is it safe to simply select the table and delete it? Would I be deleting only the link?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, if you delete a linked table, you only delete the link, not the underlying data. So there is no danger in that respect. Of course, if you have based queries, form and/or reports on the linked table, they won't work any more.
