Get my Yahoo/Hotmail messages via OL2K (Outlook 2000)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

What are the settings, SMTP and POP server names, that I need to use to get my Yahoo, and Hotmail messages using Outlook 2000?

Does Outlook get Hotmail, or just Outlook Express?

    TIA

At this time you can use OE and NOT Outlook 97-2003 to get you Hotmail.

You will find that Yahoo also does NOT support SMTP and POP3 email, it is intern mail only. With your yahoo account you can go to the pop3 server of another provider and read the mail that is on the server. This is just using the internet access that most email providers, provide anyway.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I figured out that much, but wanted to ask just in case someone had any new ideas.

    Thanks again.

I do not know about Hotmail but you need to look into Yahoopops. It is an interface that re-establishes the POP3 ability for Yahoo mail. If you pay Yahoo you can regain POP3 directly. They dropped the free POP3 over a year ago. Anyway start here
    http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/ This should Help.

You need a proxy that "scrapes" the web mail interface. Few years ago people were recommending Web2Pop (or en francais).

Yahoopops is great for yahoo...and free!! http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/
Hopop3 for Hotmail ...and free again http://sourceforge.net/projects/hotpop3/ but can be slightly complicated
Easier solution for Hotmail....and free is Hotmail Popper http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/
