    Takes a long time to open; but only my copy! (Office XP/XP Pro)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29>
    I have a question regarding Outlook; I have Office XP/Windows XP and all three of us use Outlook (although I use a different email program.)
    Outlook opens immediately for the other two users, for me it takes over a minute. Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    I know this will happen if Outlook isn't closed "normally," it will scan its file or something to try to recover from the crash. Not sure why else it might happen.

    Very big files will take an age to scan on startup. Also, if you sync Outlook to a PDA through a cradle, an "invisible" part of Outlook starts up. If you don't close off the sync program properly (e.g. you just shutdown) then Outlook thinks that it wasn't closed correctly, and goes through the check every single time you start it. There was a Woody's Office Watch article about it some months ago, but I can't remember when.
