    Slow Excel 97 (97)

I have just been gifted with a new Dell GX260 Optiplex computer (P4 2.8 ghz 512 mb RAM) at work. I fear there's a network process going on and I'm stuck with my problem. Problem - Excel 97 (yes, my company's still using it) is now taking 2-3 minutes to process a print command (to my HP 2300d laserjet printer ) on a form my old Dell used to process in less than 5 seconds. Any ideas where the problem may be?

    Re: Slow Excel 97 (97)

I'm in the same boat as far as Excel 97 and my company. What's the situation with Word? (97 also? Printing speed?) I've used my company Dell Latitude on a LAN and a VPN to print and no problems. (Windows 95, too!!)

A few suggestions: Print to another printer in the office, if possible, to see about that printing speed. Print to file, then send the file to the printer to narrow down the bottleneck.
