    Saving Search

How do I save a search or return to a search so that after I read one of the posts I can then switch back to the search list and read the other posts? I keep having to redo the search.

    Re: Saving Search

The only thing I can think of, is to hit the back button until you get to the original 'results' page...

    Now watch me run and hide as our dear <img src=/S/queen.gif border=0 alt=queen width=19 height=20> <img src=/S/eileen.gif border=0 alt=eileen width=17 height=15> doesn't like that very much... <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> In this case tho, it may be a necessary evil.. <img src=/S/devil.gif border=0 alt=devil width=15 height=15>

    Hope that helps!

I use IE and just right_click over each link then select 'Open in New Window'.

    That would be wonderful, if I weren't so "Resource Impaired" <img src=/S/hairy.gif border=0 alt=hairy width=15 height=15>

We've got the standard 'corporate progams' which no one in the technical world would ever recommend, which we have loaded, "Just in case" we need them.. *shrug* After a couple instances of I.E., one can count down to system freeze.. sounds like fun eh? <img src=/S/puke.gif border=0 alt=puke width=60 height=15>

If you hover your mouse over the <IMG SRC=http://wopr.com/w3timages/all.gif> you see it takes you back to your search results.

And, to think I almost pushed THAT button! <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>

I'd like the board to REMEMBER my last serach, so that tomorrow I can go back and refine it.

Save my settings in the Lounge profile file it keeps on me ought to do it.

By default it ought to satisfy you, too.

    Hi Lief:

You do know you can Shift+Click & get the same thing. I use that technique when my arm gets tired of moving back & forth. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Hi Chris:

How exactly do you get the forum to save your search for the next day? I couldn't find any profile settings for that. Thanks.

    Re: Saving Search

    I don't/can't.

    I wish I could.

You've been reading my "INI" posts for a while now. There's not a user-variable I think of that i don't store in the INI file for the next session, whether it's a startin directory, a serach string, or a set of screen colours. I know that the forum doesn't have INI files, but I wish that all software was programmed to remember "where I was when I left off".

I wrote to the banks suggesting that their ATM machines should remember that my last transaction (and coicidentally my most common) was to withdraw $160, and that that should be presented as the default transaction the INSTANT my card was validated. No. You gotta go through their elaborate menu ....

Geez Chris, you really want life to be that simple? I find it kind of fun going through 'thier elaborate menu...' <img src=/S/sarcasm.gif border=0 alt=sarcasm width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

I think everything has 'an elaborate menu...' People generally fear change, so you have to follow the herd, and follow directions... <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
