    Wrong Visual (Explorer 6)

    Hi

    I have just updated my workstation to the latest version of IE6 and on a specific website the text is out of line, see screenshot below .

    The menu should be below the word INTERMAC, which indeed it is, on another machine which also has the latest version of explorer.

    Any ideas please

    Braddy,

    I went to the URL shown in your screenshot and it displayed fine on my screen also,
    Have you checked IE>view>text size, to see what size settings you have? Mine is set to medium.

    Re: Wrong Visual (Explorer 6)

    The "slide-in" menu is generated by a bunch of included JavaScript files. Looks like it's too complicated to investigate in the middle of the night......

    Hi

    I had a suspicion it might have something to do with java, but it must be on the local machine or why would it be correct on some machines and not others?.

    It's not Java (e.g., applet requiring a virtual machine), but JavaScript, which should in theory run the same on all identically numbered browsers. Do you use any kind of script blocker?

    How about antivirus and firewall software and/or ad blockers. Those might interfere if they attempt to filter scripts.

    Hi

    I have zonealarm and popup manager on one machine, but this is one of the machines that displays properly, the others are using ISA Firewall with no add managers.

    Re: Wrong Visual (Explorer 6)

    I don't know. The code is written in a complicated way that I can't, even after 20 minutes of going through it, piece together. (After visiting the site, if you copy the two "last accessed" .js files from your TIF to the desktop, and open them in Notepad, you can see what I mean.) For reference, the menu is generated by:

    //****** AllWebMenus Libraries Version # 504 ******
    // Copyright Likno Software 2000-2003

    Hi

    It's all double dutch to me, I guess I will just have to put up with it.

    Thanks for your input anyway

    Delete all of your internet temp files and then just the cookies the for that site and then restart IE and then try a clean visit.

    Hi Dave

    Did what you suggested on two machines, no luck on either I'm afraid.

    Thanks for your assistance

    The "slide in" menus are clearly done by JavaScript. Perhaps you need to update your Windows Script??
