Open Dialogue Box (XP)

I got a tip a while ago from somewhere (you can see the trouble I'm having!) on how to right click on a folder in the open dialogue box and somehow put that folder on the left-hand pane where, for instance, "History", "Favorites" etc. hang out. I can't for the life of me figure out how I did this and I want to do it again!!!

    Help

    Thanks

    Aunt Linda--

Are you referring to an Office XP program or Windows XP? Maybe it's me.

Office XP - sorry! Specifically, so far, Excel and Word.

Instead of right clicking try this:
    1.
Select folder

Click the Tools... drop-down menu pad ( on the upper right side of the dialog)

Choose Add to My Places
Does this ring a bell? If you highlight something other than a folder, the command should be grayed out in Step*3.
