    Roaming Profiles 2000 Server

Ever since the power failure I have had a user unable to print to a netwrok printer. After trying a number of different things I figured that it had something to do with the account. I deleted her account on the server and recreated it exactly as it was before. Now when she logs on the message appears "Unable to log onto Roaming Profile....". Permissions are all set the same as before.
Is there a way to get into the old profile (I'm thinkiung it's corrupt)?
Is the "My Documents" also stored with the profile and if it isn't how can I get a new profile to "look" for the old My Docs file? Don't really care about the different settings, I'm more concerned about the documents.
BTW after creating the new account she was able to print.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

You say that "Permissions are all set the same as before", but the old user account that had the correct identifier to use those permissions has been deleted. The new user account may have the same name as the old one, but it will have different identifiers.

You need to add this users permissions back for every object that they used to be able to access, and every group that they used to be a member of.

The other issue you can get with profiles is that if two users with identical usernames have logged onto the same laptop then their profiles will have been cached with slightly different forms (e.g. Username.Domain or Username.Computername) instead of the usual Username. You can see these profiles from Control Panel > System > Advanced > User Profile > settings. This may let you delete the old profile from the laptop.

You hit the nail on the head with the unique identifiers. I created a new profile using a different name, and was able to get them logged on again. I then went into the My Documents folder on the server that saves documents for each user and because I was logged in as administrator I was able to take ownershup of each file. I had to close the file then go back into it (for some reason) and then I was able to adjust the security settings. I could then make a copy of "missing" files, save them to disk, take them to the users computer and put them back on.
    Thanks for your advise, I didn't think of the unique identifier at all. <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>
