    Page numbering (word 2000)

I'm just tryin to figuer out how to number the pages in a document. The first five or so pages has to be in roman numeral from while the rest has to be in regular form starting from number 1. How do I get word to do this? Another thing, when I select the roman numeral form it still shows regular number form when I click OK. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi LaMont,

To use different page numbering schemes, you'll need to put each new scheme in it's own Section (ie Insert|Break|Section Break), and clear the default 'Continue from previous' for whichever of the Header or Footer you're using for the numbering (via View|Header and Footer). Then, while you're in Header/Footer view, you can define the page numbering style and 'starting from' parameters for each section, using the Header and Footer toolbar.

    Cheers
