Adobe to Word 2002 (Word 2002)

I'm wondering if there is a way to download a document from Adobe to Word. I've tried it and it comes in as looking like a 'secret code'.

The full version of Adobe Acrobat (about US$200-250) can export to RTF if the document is not protected (or if you know the password). Otherwise, with (some versions of) the Reader you might have the option to export to text on your File menu.

If you don't get any help from the Adobe side, your options are limited. There is copy and paste, of course, if the PDF is not protected, and there is a feature of some high-end scanning software to perform optical character recognition on the PDF file to create an editable document.

Incidentally, the secret code is a kind of compressed EPS (encapsulated postscript). There might be a way to convert it back into EPS, and then from EPS to RTF, but I've never gone looking for the tools to do it in steps.
