    watermarks in Excel? (Office 2000)

Is it possible to put a graphic in the "background" in an Excel file? I know several ways to do it in Word, but can't seem to find a way to accomplish the same thing in Excel. I would like for a graphic to be printed behind the worksheet, if possible.

    Thanks!

    Bob,

There is a MSoft knowledge base article addressing this issue. Unfortunately the answer is no.

Here are some sites that use WORDART to create a watermark

    http://www.codetoad.com/vba_watermark.asp

Another technique is to use the camera tool to place a PICTURE of a range over a graphic. Then you can print this area rather than your original. The camera tool is discussed by John Walkenbach along with a mention of this technique.

It might just be worth checking the options on your printer driver. Some printers have a watermarking facility "built in" to the printer software, so to speak.
