    Set starting Autonumber (2000)

Is there a way to start Autonumbering from a specific number I choose?

Also, in an Autonumber field, why does the table sometimes start with an Autonumber like "23" instead of "1" when the normal settings have been used?

Thanks for the reference on starting Autonumber intentionally at a certain number.

Do you know why the Autonumber field will sometimes start with a number like 23 instead of 1 when you want it to start at 1?

Unless you compact the database, autonumbers don't get reset, so they start at one higher than the last autonumber in the table ... even if you have deleted all the records.
